School's Out For Summer... Not Quite! 🤘

Whilst schools across Manchester may have closed their doors for the summer, things have been anything but quiet here at Music Evermore!

July has been one of our biggest and most exciting months yet, bringing together everything that makes Music Evermore so special. From young musicians performing on festival stages, to celebrating the end of another incredible school year, completing our first ever Industry Pathway pilot, becoming one of the official charity partners for Live in Wythenshawe Park and launching another summer of music-making... it's safe to say we've barely had time to catch our breath!

🎪 Music Evermore Summer Festival 2026

The highlight of the month had to be our second Music Evermore Summer Festival at South West Manchester Cricket Club.

What a day it was!

Fourteen incredible young acts from across Manchester took to the stage, performing to hundreds of family members, friends and supporters in what was a fantastic celebration of young musical talent and everything that Music Evermore stands for.

The festival once again showcased not only the amazing progress our young musicians have made over the past year, but also the confidence, friendships and sense of community that live music creates.

We were also delighted to welcome special guests The Spotlighters & Lightning Power, whose fantastic performance reminded everyone that music truly is for everyone, without barriers, before one of Manchester's most exciting emerging indie bands, STRATA, closed the festival with an unforgettable headline set.

With major record labels now taking notice of STRATA, it was incredibly inspiring for our younger musicians to see first-hand where passion, hard work and dedication can lead.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed and supported the event, and to Alchemy Advisory Ltd for generously sponsoring the festival stage and helping us create such a memorable day for our young performers.

❤️ Live in Wythenshawe Park

As if the Summer Festival wasn't exciting enough, we are also incredibly proud to be chosen as one of the official charity partners for this summer's Live in Wythenshawe Park concerts for The Cure and Lewis Capaldi shows in August.

This partnership provides an amazing opportunity to introduce thousands of music lovers to Music Evermore, raise vital funds and continue creating life-changing music opportunities for young people across Wythenshawe and Manchester.

Working alongside our friends at Brighter Sound, these events will be a fantastic experience, and we're excited to continue building new partnerships that help make music accessible to every young person, regardless of their background.

📚 Industry Pathway Pilot Programme

July also saw the successful completion of our very first Industry Pathway 4-Day Pilot Programme.

Designed to introduce young people to careers within the music industry beyond performing, the pilot gave participants hands-on experience of live sound, stage production, equipment setup and the many technical roles that make live events possible.

The enthusiasm shown by everyone involved has been fantastic and has reinforced our vision of creating clear pathways into the creative industries for young people across Manchester.

This is only the beginning...

🎓 Celebrating Another Incredible School Year

As another school year came to a close, our tutors had the privilege of celebrating with hundreds of young people across Manchester through summer showcases, end-of-year performances and emotional Year 6 leavers' assemblies.

From children performing their very first songs in front of family members, to young bands confidently taking to the stage and Year 6 pupils leaving primary school with unforgettable musical memories, it has been incredible to reflect on just how much progress has been made over the past academic year.

Every rehearsal, every lesson and every performance has helped build confidence, teamwork, resilience and creativity, and we couldn't be prouder of every young person who has been part of the Music Evermore journey this year.

A huge thank you to all of our partner schools for welcoming us into your classrooms, to our incredible team of tutors for their passion and dedication every single week, and to our amazing funding partners, including Heist or Hit and Rising Tide AI, whose continued support enables hundreds of children across Manchester to access high-quality music education.

☀️ The Music Doesn't Stop!

Whilst another fantastic school year may have come to an end, Music Evermore certainly isn't slowing down for the summer.

Throughout August we're once again delivering our fully funded Summer Band Sessions from the Wythenshawe Forum Library Creative Space, giving young people aged 7–16 the opportunity to continue making music throughout the holidays.

Running every Wednesday and Thursday across the month, the sessions provide a welcoming space where young musicians can learn instruments, write songs, play in bands, develop their confidence and make new friends alongside experienced tutors.

Whether it's their very first time picking up an instrument or they're already experienced performers, every young person has the opportunity to learn, create and experience the excitement of making music together.

One thing we've always believed at Music Evermore is that creativity shouldn't stop when the school gates close. By providing fully funded opportunities throughout the holidays, we're helping ensure that young people can continue developing their musical skills, building friendships and expressing themselves in a safe, welcoming environment all year round.

Looking Ahead...

July has been a month we'll remember for a long time.

From our biggest Summer Festival yet, to launching new opportunities for young people, celebrating another fantastic school year and taking Music Evermore to some of Manchester's biggest live music events, we're incredibly proud of everything that's been achieved.

None of this would be possible without our amazing young musicians, dedicated tutors, supportive families, partner schools, funders, volunteers and everyone who continues to believe in our vision.
