🎸⚡ MUSIC EVERMORE MAY & JUNE ROCKIN’ ROUNDUP ⚡🎸
Well… we’re a little late with May’s roundup due to how busy it has been, so we’ve decided to roll two incredible months into one MEGA update!
And what a couple of months it’s been… festivals, new projects, new opportunities, new stages and even more people across Manchester experiencing the power of music.
🎪 MUSIC EVERMORE SUMMER FESTIVAL — NEXT SUNDAY! ☀️🎶
The countdown is officially ON! 🤘
Next Sunday (12th July) we return to South West Manchester Cricket Club, Chorlton for our second Music Evermore Summer Festival — bringing the community together for a full day celebrating the next generation of Manchester music.
We have 12 amazing young acts from across Manchester performing throughout the day, showcasing everything they have been working hard on over the past year.
We’re also incredibly excited to welcome special guests The Spotlighters & Lightning Power, a fantastic local disability music group who will be bringing their energy, talent and love of performing to the festival stage.
And closing the day… STRATA 🔥
A young Manchester indie band absolutely flying at the moment, with major record labels now flocking around them. What an amazing opportunity for our younger musicians to watch, be inspired and see where their own musical journey could take them in just a few years’ time.
There’ll be live music, BBQ, drinks, stalls and plenty of good vibes!
🎟️ Tickets are just a £5 donation, with all proceeds helping Music Evermore continue creating accessible music opportunities for young people.

Let’s pack it out and show these young musicians the support they deserve! 🎸🙌
INDUSTRY PATHWAY PILOT PROGRAMME
Over the past few weeks we have been running our very first Industry Pathway 4-day taster course at Wythenshawe Forum Creative Space — and what an experience it has been!
This brand new programme has given young people the chance to explore the music industry beyond performing on stage, learning about the skills and careers that help bring live music to life.
From live sound, stage setup, equipment knowledge and technical skills, the group have been getting hands-on experience and a real insight into the creative industries.
This pilot has been a huge step towards our future plans of creating clear pathways for young people to develop their passion for music into skills, confidence and future opportunities.
The future of Manchester music isn’t just on the stage… it’s behind the scenes too 🚀
🎤 FESTIVAL OF LIBRARIES / LIFELONG LEARNING
Who said libraries had to be quiet?!
We took over the Wythenshawe Forum Library Creative Space for a brilliant adult jam session, bringing local people together to plug in, play and make some noise.
A room full of music, smiles and community spirit… exactly how we like it!
🏆 BATTLE OF THE BANDS IS GROWING!
After the success of our Wythenshawe Battle of the Bands earlier this year, we’ve been working away behind the scenes on something VERY exciting…
Battle of the Bands is heading into Manchester primary schools! 🤘
We can’t wait to bring schools together from across Manchester, giving even more young musicians the chance to perform, collaborate and experience the buzz of playing live. More news coming soon… 👀
🎸 SCHOOL & WEEKLY SESSION ROCKIN’ ROUNDUP 🎸
It has been another incredible couple of months across our schools and weekly sessions, with hundreds of young people across Manchester picking up instruments, building confidence and discovering what they can achieve through music.
🏫 Park View Academy, Miles Platting
A huge thank you to Heist or Hit for continuing to sponsor our work at Park View Academy, helping us provide accessible music opportunities every single week.

Year 1 have been exploring different instruments through “I Am The Music Man” and developing their rhythm skills, whilst Year 2 have already started experiencing playing as a full band — with drummers, guitarists, keyboard players and singers all working together.
We even had some electric guitars making an appearance!
🏫 Peel Hall Primary Academy, Wythenshawe

Year 3 have made fantastic progress playing together and keeping time, Year 4 have been expanding their knowledge using sharps and flats, whilst Year 5 have taken on their biggest challenge yet — learning “I Gotta Feeling” by layering different musical parts together.
Year 6 are preparing TWO songs to finish their Peel Hall journey and go out with a bang! 🎤
🏫 Seymour Road Academy, Clayton
A massive thank you to Rising Tide AI for sponsoring our work at Seymour Road Academy and allowing us to bring these opportunities into the school.

🏫 Webster Primary School, Moss Side
Thank you to Rising Tide AI
All groups have been busy preparing for their end of term performances!
The Year 6 pupils, supported by Music Evermore vocal tutor Dani, have been preparing some beautiful songs for their leavers assembly — including an emotional version of “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane and an uplifting version of “Lean On Me” by Bill Withers.
And to finish… the Year 6 school rock band will be ending things with a huge performance of “Best Day Of My Life” by American Authors.
There won’t be a dry eye in sight! 🥹🎸
🎸 Wythenshawe Forum Band Sessions
Our evening bands are polishing their setlists ready for the Music Evermore Summer Festival!
We have a huge mix of genres coming to the stage — from Red Hot Chili Peppers to a reimagined version of Bad Romance, Kings of Leon to Shawn Mendes.

🎶 Sponsored Places – We Will Rock You Project Saturday Band Sessions
Thanks to our amazing supporters, Music Evermore continues to provide sponsored places for young musicians to access weekly band sessions and experience the power of playing music together.
Our Saturday bands have been working incredibly hard preparing for the Summer Festival, building full live sets, growing in confidence and pushing themselves with more challenging songs.
From Parklife and We Will Rock You, to Song 2, Sit Down, Teddy Picker, Can’t Stop — the range of music these young musicians are taking on is incredible.
The dedication, teamwork and progress shown across all groups has been amazing.
The next generation of Manchester bands are coming through… and they sound awesome.
💙 AND FINALLY…
Whether it’s a first chord, first rehearsal, first gig, first time stepping onto a stage or discovering a future career path — every opportunity matters.
A massive thank you to our young musicians, families, tutors, schools, funders, sponsors and everyone who continues to help us make music accessible across Manchester.
The volume keeps getting louder… 🤘🎶
