🎸 Music Evermore Rockin’ Roundup – July 2025

School’s out for Summer!

We were honoured to receive another call from the BBC, inviting some of our students to perform live at Victoria Train Station for their Oasis special. Young Archie and Oliver from our Wythenshawe Forum Sessions absolutely smashed it—playing Champagne Supernova, Half The World Away and She’s Electric live on the BBC Radio Manchester Breakfast Show and to a packed, bustling station crowd in the heart of Manchester. They conducted themselves impeccably and were a real credit to Music Evermore. 🌟

Wow, what a fantastic end to the academic year! Firstly, a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who performed, supported, volunteered, attended and got involved with our Music Evermore Summer Festival. We had over 300 people through the gates, 12 young acts performing impeccably in the blistering summer heat, and a flawless DJ set from ambassador and actor John Thomson to close things out. We raised an amazing £1144 for Music Evermore and had a jolly good time doing it. Expect this to be an annual tradition—we're already eyeing dates for next year 👀.

Alongside the festival, we’ve had a jam-packed month of school and club sessions—and we're not stopping there. This summer, we're running funded 2.5 hour band songwriting sessions at the Wythenshawe Forum Creative Space on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th August. Book your spot here.

We’re also excited to welcome Seymour Road Academy (Clayton) and Park View Academy (Ancoats) to the Music Evermore family in September. We’ll be delivering full class band sessions, small groups, 1-2-1s, school rock bands and school choirs—mirroring the fantastic work already happening at Peel Hall Primary School, all thanks to Heist or Hit Records and Rising Tide AI. 🎶

Here's what’s been happening this month across our projects:

🎤 Peel Hall Primary School

Funded by: Heist or Hit Records
After two full terms, music has truly become part of the school’s soul. The joy and enthusiasm from students and staff alike have been overwhelming. Their summer showcase was a highlight—each student gave their all, and it showed. We’re proud to be returning in September with an even broader offer, including EYFS!

🥁 Wythenshawe Forum Band Sessions

Funded by: Manchester City Council’s Neighbourhood Investment Fund (Wythenshawe)
The end-of-year showcase was the biggest yet—massive crowd, buzzing energy, and major pride. In the final week, self-reflection sessions helped students recognise their growth since their first Christmas gig. We can’t wait to see them level up again this Autumn!

🎸 St Mary’s Primary School

Funded by: Rising Tide AI
Year 5 students worked so hard all year to put together an incredible end-of-term performance. They brought parents and peers together to share their musical progress, and we’re excited to build on this solid foundation in September.

🎶 Claremont Primary School

Funded by: Heist or Hit Records
The final month was all about classroom performances—two songs per group, played with passion and pride. Special mention to our nurture group, who created something truly moving in their final session. With glocks, ukuleles and even a bell solo, it showed the real therapeutic power of music. We hope these children continue to have creative access like this in the future.

🎪 Webster Primary School

Funded by: Rising Tide AI
What a finale—WEBSTOCK 2025 was a massive success! With live performances outdoors, bouncy castles, games and face paints, the whole school came alive. Year 6’s leavers assembly had everyone emotional as they sang “Wonderwall” and “Stand by Me”. A perfect send-off.

🎸 Saturday Band Sessions – We Will Rock You Project

Funded by: John Thomson, Sale & Altrincham Good Afternooners WI, public donors
Our We Will Rock You Project has created life-changing moments this year. Funded places allowed students to make new friends, grow in confidence and perform to over 300 people at our summer festival. With funding bids in the pipeline, we’re hoping to expand this offer in September.

🌞 Until September…

From all of us at Music Evermore, thank you for an incredible year. We’re grateful to every sponsor, supporter, school, parent and pupil who helped make it happen. Have a wonderful summer—and we’ll see you in the Autumn term!
